Imagine a world where the word "kind" is not just an adjective but a way of life. Think about what it would be like if everyone around you, from your family and friends to colleagues and classmates, chose to sprinkle a little extra kindness into their interactions. We often hear about the power of kindness, but have you ever experienced it in action?
In one of our recent training sessions, a teacher who had been using the Heroes programs in their classroom made a profound observation: "Our school is kinder." This simple yet powerful statement reflects the transformative impact that the Heroes program is having on our educational communities. It's a ripple effect of kindness that we're proud to be a part of, but we couldn’t share these moments without the help of our supporters.

Kindness, as it turns out, is contagious. When someone extends a gesture of kindness, it sparks joy within the recipient and, in turn, inspires them to pass that kindness forward. Inspired people inspire others. The Smile Cookie Campaign by Tim Hortons is a heartwarming example of this ripple effect. Tim Hortons, the beloved Canadian franchise, has been raising funds for local charities for over 25 years. Last year, their restaurants raised a record-breaking $15 million for over 600 local charities and community groups, including Impact Society. The Smile Cookie legacy, which has seen over $90 million raised since its inception, showcases the incredible impact a simple act of kindness can have.
two years of kindness from dollar a day foundation
At Impact Society, we're no strangers to the power of kindness. We've had the privilege of receiving support from the Dollar a Day Foundation through the Tim Hortons Smile Cookie Campaign for two consecutive years. The Dollar A Day Foundation operates with a clear mission that reflects the values of Impact Society, which is to provide the critical funds needed for frontline mental health and addiction programs across Canada. With the aligned mission for creating resilient individuals who are equipped with the tools needed to navigate adversity, we are grateful to be among the recipients of funds from the Calgary region Smile Cookie Campaign. Thanks to these contributions spanning the past two years, Impact Society has been able to provide Heroes programs and enhanced mental health services to nearly 900 youth across Canada. These funds are a key driver in creating generations that cherish kindness in their pursuit of building positive mental wellbeing. This is a testament to the commitment of organizations like the Dollar a Day Foundation and Tim Hortons to make a real difference in their communities.
