Educator and Heroes Facilitator

Shane Jones has been facilitating Heroes sessions with his students for over 17 years. Understanding the challenges that his students are facing, Shane works to help them identify the walls that are holding them back to address them and move forward.

“I think the most important thing for students to hear is that ‘they’re enough, they have what it takes’. They may not know what that looks like, but if we can help plant a seed in their head, they can do it!”

Heroes Alumni Student

Harmehar Dhillon was in the 8th grade when she was introduced to the Heroes program. Just 12 years old at the time, Harmehar was struggling with self-image, healthy friendships, and the fear of failure.


Today, Harmehar is a recent university graduate pursuing her dream of becoming a lawyer. She credits the Heroes program for encouraging her the make the changes necessary for her to live a flourishing life.


At the very least, people need to know that Heroes is a life skills program, an essential life skills program. But at the most, it can encourage groups of students to have more courage and have more faith in themselves as they move forward in this life.”

Kristina Regehr first connected with Impact Society over a decade ago when her husband Robyn played defence for the Calgary Flames. Robyn and Kristina created the “Impact on Ice” initiative, donating $75 for every hit he made that season. Now, Kristina is a trained Heroes facilitator and treasured member of our advisory board. Last year, she helped us raise over $17,000 for Heroes bursary funds in partnership with the Calgary Flames Foundation.

Heroes School

Creating a school culture centered on Heroes values is vital to fosters an environment where students, educators, and the entire community can thrive. This shared culture encourages positive behaviors, enhances well-being, and empowers individuals to make a meaningful impact in there classroom and beyond. By embracing these values, schools can cultivate resilience, empathy, and a strong sense of purpose in their students, ultimately preparing them to face life's challenges and contribute positively to society.
