She was taken away from her home and community when she was six years old, spending the next twelve years of her life in residential school, never seeing her family again. Billie Fortier shares the story of her Grandmother Lina, and the strength she had to persevere through incredible hardship. Billie has helped us in developing our Heroes are Warriors program to help Indigenous youth in our community thrive.
